This policy explains what information is collected when you visit aguswrites, how it is used, and your choices.
Information we collect
When you use the contact form, we collect your name, email address, and message. When you leave a comment, we collect your name, email, comment text, and optionally your country. When you subscribe to the newsletter, we collect your email address and language preference. If you choose to remember your details, name, email, and country are stored in your browser's local storage. Commenter accounts use a separate session cookie. When you visit the site, we may process anonymized page-view data through Umami analytics. We also use cookies to remember your language preference, theme choice, reading settings, post reactions, and to avoid counting duplicate post views.
Contact form data
Messages sent through the contact form are delivered by Resend to the site owner. Your IP address may be used temporarily to enforce rate limits and prevent abuse. Do not send sensitive personal data through the form.
Cookies and local storage
This site uses cookies for language detection (i18n_redirected), session management in the admin area and for commenter accounts, view-count and reaction deduplication, and optional Umami analytics. Reader preferences and optionally saved comment details (name, email, country) are stored in your browser's local storage when you opt in.
Analytics
We use self-hosted Umami analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns. Umami does not use third-party advertising cookies and does not track you across other websites. Analytics only runs on public pages when configured in production.
Data retention
Contact form messages are kept in the site owner's email inbox for as long as needed to respond. Analytics data is retained according to the Umami instance configuration. Cookies and local storage persist until you clear them or they expire.
Your rights
If you are in the European Economic Area or another region with data-protection laws, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, use the contact form on the About page.

This policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
